Ahmet Çallı
Ahmet completed his high school education at Saint Joseph High School. In 1984, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University and started working as an electronic engineer. He served as a technical manager for an IBM distributor until 1988. He was partner of a company where he worked on computer hardware and networks between 1988 and 1996.
He loves watching the matches of ES Volleyball Club, and is also fond of travelling, especially when driving himself, skiing and playing bridge. Thanks to the company, Ahmet says that watching volleyball matches has once again become one of his favorite hobbies, something he first fell in love with during his college years. He is married with two children.
Burak Göçmen
After long successful years of Project Management in ES, he first took the responsibility of Developing the Business in order to help the company to take more confident steps towards the Company goals using his know-how and the experience in the industry. In April 2010 he represented ES in ELIA conference held in Istanbul as a guest speaker and spoke about the potential of Turkish localization industry and opportunities of regional localization companies, as well as ES Localization Services in the past, present and future.
He had combined his business developing skills with his management skills and took the role of Operations Manager. After spending few years as the Operations Manager, he’s now running the company as the General Manager.
Burak completed his high school education at Robert College. He graduated from the department of Mechanical Engineering, at Yildiz Technical University.
He loves travelling and seeing different places and cultures; as long as he’s not away from his family for too long. Burak also has a keen interest in new technology, endlessly exploring any new gadgets that come into the market each day.
Bora Yücelten
Thanks to the Bursa Anadolu High School’s billiards room, Bora remains a fine billiards player (even though not having played for a few years now), and is involved in tennis at the amateur level. His interests include technological gadgets and fantastic novels. In 2006, Bora met his wife and they married in 2008. He has a son, Ege.
Dilek Oktay
After she studied Computer Engineering in Bosphorus University, she started her professional life as a software specialist in banking industry. Then she moved to a publishing company and worked as an editor and writer for weekly computer magazines and computer books. Later, she joined an Internet publishing startup in one of the biggest media groups in Turkey as a Portal Publishing Coordinator.
She enjoys learning new languages and attended French, Japanese and Arabic classes, and also took courses on cinema and photography. She loves reading and travelling to different parts of the world.
Arzu Övül
Arzu completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of Industrial Engineering, at Istanbul Technical University, and later, completed her graduate studies at the Department of Modern Business Administration, at Marmara University. She worked in different positions in the banking sector before joining ES.
Among her hobbies are writing and reading poetry, reading thrillers, travelling throughout Turkey and abroad, swimming and basketball. Arzu has a daughter and a cat.
Ulaş Çöğendezoğlu
After earning a Microsoft Information Technologies Certificate from Anadolu University, he decided to complete his military service. However, between the time he had made his decision for the military service and making it happen actually – almost 5 years – he played different roles as a project manager, localization specialist and tester for localization projects of the gaming companies such as EA, THQ, 1C, CDV and Ubisoft.
After a return to ES to take on a quick-paced career path, he currently assumes duties as a Localization Project Manager.
While wondering what tomorrow will bring to him, he keeps watching his great collection of anime movies, tries to follow the latest in fantastic literature and has fun with his colleagues while showcasing to them his unusual desktop games.
If he gets stuck on a desert island, he prefers to have his anime collection, his computer and his wife. Not to forget his cell phone to check his emails so he can continue serving his precious clients!
Fatma Yıldız Gençer
Fatma has decided to carry on her career in the field of organization and has undertaken the role of project manager for many enterprise companies, coordinating their outdoor organizations. After gaining experience in various fields of communication industries, Fatma has decided to carry on with localization where she could combine her background knowledge.
Fatma likes marbling, playing the reed and travelling. In year 2014 Fatma has married to her husband who is also a member of the ES family.
Ünzile Göçen
Unzile has started to work as a Project Manager in ES as she thought that she needs a new challenge for her career.
Unzile likes to care about some sports especially football, basketball and tennis, to read her favorite authors like Eco or Anar, to do some hand-crafts, to listen nostalgic songs, and to watch old films, to go trekking, to try different recipes, to discover new ideas to make the world better with her friends, and to overcome her strange obsessions that she creates as result of thinking too much.
Her dreams for future can be expressed such as going to a small world trip, having a library full of her books that she could get, to become old in nature peacefully and to live with her dears together.
Kerem Erkişi
Kerem has a deep interest in science, technology and history. In his free time, he likes to play PC games, read up on things that interest him and listen to various genres of music.
Hakan Tufan
With a knack for planning and handling stress and a passion for interpersonal communication, Hakan decided to give it a try. In the fifth month of his translator career, he came on board as a project coordinator. He has been managing projects since January 2022 and he is quite satisfied he has made the right decision for his career since then.
Hakan loves meeting with new people, making people laugh, and enjoying the moment. In his spare time, he hangs out with his friends and discovers new places. He also enjoys cooking very much and often watches recipe videos. He saves recipes for future use, but ironically, never tries any!
He has recently developed an interest in musical instruments and has been practicing the violin for about 3 months. Once he is a violin virtuoso, he plans to move on to improve his side flute skills.
Seren Bayraktar
Awarded a full scholarship to Bilkent University, Department of American Culture and Literature back in 2014, she graduated with high honors. In 2013, she had the chance to study an international relations semester in Sweden with an Erasmus grant.
After her editorial internship at TRT World as an editor, and at Turkcell Global Bilgi as a translator, she decided to go to the USA where she worked, volunteered and traveled for four months. But, in the end, she found herself back in Istanbul, where her brother also studied and lived.
As she tried her hand for a few months at a teaching post, where she put into practice the education she received from Marmara University, she managed to complete a Social Media and Digital Marketing Certificate that she pursued from Yeditepe University in her efforts to develop herself. Eventually, she returned to the field of localization and translation that she was passionate about. For more than five years, she continued to work as a sworn and forensic translator. In addition, Seren worked as a project manager and team leader. She is now lovingly fulfilling her role at ES.
Among her recent favorites are occasional Aegean visits, nature tours, swimming, cycling, electronic music festivals, playing Sims and growing various plants.
Onur Akbağ
One of his biggest passions since childhood is sports. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and chess. He is also keen on learning new languages
Deniz Şengeç
Following her education at Kadıkoy Kız Lisesi, a secondary school for girls, Deniz went to Marmara University and obtained her degree as a teacher of English Language and Literature. She then did her MA in Linguistics in 1986 in Boğazici University where she worked as the assitant teacher for Turkish Language classes and then she worked for a Language School for 16 years, firstly as a teacher, then as an Education Manager and finally as the Branch Manager.
Deniz is very proud to be a ‘Child from the Bosphorus’ and is particularly proud of her place of birth Beykoz, a town along the Bosphorus. She likes reading Ahmet Umit and enjoys listening to Tom Petty. Her two daughters, Işık and Ekin, are currently her most challenging projects. As soon as these two projects are completed she plans to go on a long motor-biking holiday with her husband.
Ossama Nabil
A veteran translator and proofreader, he has over 14 years of experience. He is also an experienced editor, copy editor and technical writer. He explored various areas of linguistic skills as varied as transcreation and post-editing.
In his spare time, he loves to travel the world over from Japan to the West coast of the USA. His passion for exploring new countries, different cultures and exotic cuisines is insatiable.
He is also trying to learn some programming basics which he seems to be enjoying a lot as a perfect mental exercise. If you have any inquiry about Arabic, feel free to contact him or maybe you could just wait for the next summer… He could be the foreign tourist sitting next to you on the subway, still struggling with a traditional paper map!
Amr Darwish
Soon after graduation, Amr started working as a translator in an export and import company for medical equipment in Alexandria; his hometown. He was responsible for all communication forms with all clients all over the world. A few months later, Amr left his hometown to Cairo and worked as a Technical Writer and Localizer in Sakhr Software, the then-leading Arabic software company in the Middle East. In addition to software and Websites localization projects, his main responsibilities were authoring, editing and translating help files, user guides, training books, data sheets and press releases.
Amr joined ES team in June 2004, as one of the first two founding cadres of Cairo Office. A few years later, Amr was assigned as the Cairo Office Manager, and managed to take care of various administration tasks, beside his usual assignments as a senior linguist.
Amr likes reading, walking, watching English TV series, and playing chess. His favourite football team is Zamalek.
Barış Gençer
In parallel with medical, years of experience has led him to specialize in technical context from simple hand tools and complex production machinery to automotive and heavy duty construction and engineering vehicles. Along with proofreading technical and medical projects, Barış has also engaged in many activities and programs regarding training of translator candidates by lecturing, tutoring and mentoring.
Barış likes reading, computer gaming, cycling and playing the guitar. Barış lives with his wife who is also a member of the ES family in PM group along with their little daughter.
Selçuk Tüzel
He worked on localization/publishing/training projects about a wide range of brands, but Microsoft products, services and technologies are his main interest and expertise.
He likes traveling, enjoying life with his wife, son and cat, listening/performing music. He’s a founding member of Meat The Beetles, Turkey’s first The Beatles tribute band, performing on occasion locally and abroad (meatthebeetles.com).
Hande Yıldız
She loves working and interacting with different cultures and has been around 15 countries for business and travelling. She also likes reading about astronomy, physics and likes learning languages. Besides German, she has recently been self-studying Arabic.
Busra Idil Can
Shortly after the graduation, she had a 1-month internship at ES and then started working with the company as a freelancer and 10 months later, she was hired as a linguist. She is now responsible for reviewing the marketing texts which she believes reflect the companies’ corporate identities.
Although being a fan of comedy in almost everything, İdil loves reading crime novels. As a former volleyball player, watching the matches has always been a pleasure for her.
Duygu Yücel
Although she enjoys reading almost every genre of fiction, her heart lies with Asian and Latin American modern literature, and magical realism in particular. She also tries to keep up with gender studies and queer theory, and she enjoys watching European cinema and American TV shows.
Noyan Aydın
He took part in all the projects with a technical content in the ES family, before he became the leader of the technical team. He was the testing leader in the testing project for Office 2000, team leader for Office 2003, administrator of the Office 2007 group, assuring the constitution of the group itself. He fulfilled various positions in desktop publishing, localization engineering and the coordination of the software team. He shared his experience of the computer culture and information technologies with the various factions of the ES family through many training projects inside the offices.
He was among the first graduates of the Kadir Has High School and he studied at the Middle Eastern Technical University Electricity and Electronic Engineering Department. He studied in the Mathematics Department of the İstanbul University upon his return to İstanbul.
He likes to read science fiction and political books as well as watching movies of the same genres, but he values spending time with his son the most. He tries to keep up with the communication, software and office automation technologies. He has built his own family with his banker wife whom he met during his years at the ES family and his son was born in 2008.
Özlem Sayın
She graduated from the Department of Business Administration, a Anadolu University. In addition, Ozlem qualified to become a financial advisor in 2000. She completed the executive MBA program at Marmara University in 2004.
Among her hobbies are music, gardening, cooking, indoor sports, hiking and politics. She is married with a 9-year-old daughter.
Suzan Tek
Having spent 10 years in the localization industry as a project manager in an international localization company she proceeds on her way with ES. She is married with a child.
She is trying to keep up the connection with literature by writing little stories for his son just for now. She likes reading about psychology, cultural and media studies.
Büsra Çebi
She is happily married with one daughter and at her leisure times she likes reading, watching TV series and films in English and keeping up to date with the recent official statements related to her profession.
Murat Dogruel
Filled with a strong passion for Trap & Skeet Shooting Murat likes to follow technological innovations, read books on history, work on his RC vehicles and enjoy his spare time with his family
Born in 1986 Murat is married and has a little daughter. His ultimate dream is to go on a motorcycle trip around the world with his wife.
