Since 1994, Sirma has served in every department of the company with various roles. Although holding a position in senior management, Sirma tries to avoid titles like 'CEO' or 'General Manager' of the company, as well as 'Chairman' of ES Volleyball Sports Club, which was founded five years ago. Instead, she always tries to fulfill her duties without having the need for any title.
Having graduated from Galatasaray High School, and later from The Department of Control and Computer Engineering, at Istanbul Technical University, she worked for several companies of different sizes as an engineer and a mid-level manager for 7 years. But ultimately, Sirma believes that the 10 years she spent serving as a volleyball player and a trainer for Galatasaray Sports Club during her high school and college years gave her the most valuable education on life and business.
Her daughter was born in 1994, amidst the founding of ES, and her son was born in 1999, a period of significant growth for the company, which according to Sirma is no coincidence. She often works harder when she is happy, and when success arrives as a result of hard work she becomes more energetic and creative. She says it is no secret that she owes her success to her children. She simply adores children, youngsters and sports. In her free time, Sirma continues to play sports and enjoys reading books on history.
Ercan is one of the founders of ES. Since the first years of the company, he has assumed various roles especially within the development of the technological substructure, the formation of a system for project management and project steering, and the development of the tools for system improvement in accordance with the flexible structure of the company. He currently serves as the Vice President.
Ercan completed his undergraduate and graduate education at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering, at Istanbul Technical University. Prior to contributing to the foundation of ES, he worked for the Turkish distribution section of Microsoft as a technical support engineer and technical director for 5 years. It was during this period that Ercan became well acquainted with software localization projects.
Ercan took up photography after the foundation of ES Volleyball Sports Club, under the sponsorship of ES Ltd., and continues to enjoy the time he spends on this hobby. Among his other fields of interest are travelling, playing volleyball and table tennis, watching the volleyball matches of ES Volleyball Club and the football matches of Galatasaray, technological gadgets and web design. He has a daughter and a son.
When ES was founded, Ahmet assumed a part-time position, but began working full-time in 1996. Since then, he has gone on to assume every possible role in the company. He is currently working as the development and finance/quality manager.
Ahmet completed his high school education at Saint Joseph High School. In 1984, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University and started working as an electronic engineer. He served as a technical manager for an IBM distributor until 1988. He was partner of a company where he worked on computer hardware and networks between 1988 and 1996.
He loves watching the matches of ES Volleyball Club, and is also fond of travelling, especially when driving himself, skiing and playing bridge. Thanks to the company, Ahmet says that watching volleyball matches has once again become one of his favorite hobbies, something he first fell in love with during his college years. He is married with two children.
Burak joined ES Ltd. as a testing expert for the Office 2000 project in 1999. Since then, he has assumed roles in every service offered by ES to its customers. In 2009 he celebrated his 10th year as part of the ES family.
After long successful years of Project Management in ES, he first took the responsibility of Developing the Business in order to help the company to take more confident steps towards the Company goals using his know-how and the experience in the industry. In April 2010 he represented ES Ltd. in ELIA conference held in Istanbul as a guest speaker and spoke about the potential of Turkish localization industry and opportunities of regional localization companies, as well as ES Bilgisayar in the past, present and future.
Currently he's the sole responsible of Operations of the production teams in Istanbul and in Cairo.
Burak completed his high school education at Robert College. He graduated from the department of Mechanical Engineering, at Yildiz Technical University.
He loves travelling and seeing different places and cultures; as long as he's not away from his family for too long. Burak also has a keen interest in new technology, endlessly exploring any new gadgets that come into the market each day.
Arzu joined the ES staff in 1996, and has since carried out various roles including translation and proofreading. She is currently working as a Senior Project Manager in the company.
Arzu completed her undergraduate studies at the Department of Industrial Engineering, at Istanbul Technical University, and later, completed her graduate studies at the Department of Modern Business Administration, at Marmara University. She worked in different positions in the banking sector before joining ES.
Among her hobbies are writing and reading poetry, reading thrillers, travelling throughout Turkey and abroad, swimming and basketball. Arzu has a daughter and a cat.
Mustafa joined the ES family in 2000 following his graduation from university. He worked as a Software Testing Expert in his first year, later assuming the leadership role of the Testing Team for Word XP. He began working amongst the technical staff mid 2001. In addition to his support to the technical staff, he also took part in Desktop Publishing until leaving for his military service in 2005. Having completed his military service, Mustafa returned to the company and worked as a Localization Manager until January 2008. He also served as the Quality Control Manager of the Egypt DTP Staff during this period. He joined the Project Management team in January 2008. Along with his respective duties within Project Management team, he was also assigned as Cairo Branch Manager in October 2008.
He completed his high school education at Kabatas Erkek Lisesi, a school which he has always felt proud of graduating. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Department of Computer Programming, at Marmara University and the Department of Public Administration, at Anadolu University.
Deniz started working at the ES Group in 1996 as a language specialist for Microsoft and as a Project Management specialist for STEP, one of ES's subsidiaries set up in 2002. She has been working as the Group Manager since the merging of ES and STEP in 2012.
Following her education at Kadıköy Kız Lisesi, a secondary school for girls, Deniz went to Marmara University and obtained her degree as a teacher of English Language and Literature. She then did her MA in Linguistics in 1986 in Boğaziçi University where she worked as the assitant teacher for Turkish Language classes and then she worked for a Language School for 16 years, firstly as a teacher, then as an Education Manager and finally as the Branch Manager.
Deniz is very proud to be a 'Child from the Bosphorus' and is particularly proud of her place of birth Beykoz, a town along the Bosphorus. She likes reading Ahmet Ümit and enjoys listening to Tom Petty. Her two daughters, Işık and Ekin, are currently her most challenging projects. As soon as these two projects are completed she plans to go on a long motor-biking holiday with her husband.
Bora joined the ES group in 2003, working as a member of the software testing group for the Office 2003 localization project. After holding Desktop Publishing and Project Coordination roles, Bora currently works for ES as Senior Project Manager.
Thanks to the Bursa Anadolu High School's billiards room, Bora remains a fine billiards player (even though not having played for a few years now), and is involved in tennis at the amateur level. His interests include technological gadgets and fantastic novels. In 2006, Bora met his wife and they married in 2008. He has a son, Ege.
Laden joined the ES family in 2006 as a Sales and Marketing Specialist. In 2008, she became a Project Manager, and since 2011, she has been working as a Senior Project Manager. Before joining ES, Laden worked as a financial analyst in the banking sector for three years.
After graduating from Istanbul Erkek High School, she studied in the Marmara University's Business Management Department for one year. Her education then continued at the University of North Dakota after winning a swimming scholarship, graduating from the university's Economics Department with a degree in Business Economics. She continued to swim for a while at the university. After leaving active swimming, Laden worked for four years as an assistant coach at the Kınalıada Water Sports Club. During her swimming career's ten years, she not only represented her country at international level but also came to hold many of Turkey's records. Now just like her, Laden's two daughters, Gonca and Damla, are interested in swimming. Laden is an active member of the Kınalıada Water Sports Club's Sport Committee and helps to organize many of the club's swim meets and other club activities.
Besides swimming, Laden is interested in folk dancing. She likes to read novels and poems, listen to blues, country and folk music since she met her husband and to take long walks with her dog Tarçın.
Can joined the team of ES project managers in 2010. He obtained his degree in Economics from Başkent University in 2004. Soon afterwards, he started working as a research associate in a university in Istanbul. He worked as a research associate on various fields, including Project Management. During his academic career, he participated in business administration conferences held in Canada, Sweden and Italy as a lecturer.
In 2007, he participated in the "Congress on International Project Management" held by Istanbul Project Management Association, as a member of Academic Advisory Board. He took classes and obtained the Project Manager and Project Management Certificate the same year. He worked in various positions for project management and consultancy companies during his academic and professional career. He completed the MSc, Project Management program of University of Portsmouth in the UK.
Can likes to read books on critical-creative thinking, behavioral studies and risk management. He is still interested in the academic aspect of project management. Although he is really into music, he had to leave his beloved cello behind for his education abroad, which meant a hiatus in his musical life. Can likes travelling, cooking, old cameras and Homer Simpson! He is also an obsessively devout Beatles fan.
Özgür joined the ES project management team in 2011. He graduated from Boğaziçi University's Translation Studies department in 2006. He has been in the field of localization since his early student years starting his career as an intern in ES Ltd. and has been working as a professional since five years as a Project Manager.
His main areas of work have been in the fields of IT and Automotive with various large and important projects. Up until now, he has dealt with localization in every aspect, including translation, proofreading, testing, DTP, etc. which rendered him a versatile professional in the area.
Özgür is an ambitious fantasy and fiction reader and audience, The Lord of the Rings being his favorite book and movie of all time. Apart from that he is an amateur drawer of fantasy characters and settings and he shoots rather short stop motion movies in his free time. He is also a die-hard metal and rock music fan and cannot withstand a day without listening to music. Özgür has a cat and dog and likes to spoil them whenever he finds the time.
Burcu has been working at ES since 2010 and joined this family as a Project Coordinator. She became a Project Manager in July, 2011 and celebrated her first year recently.
She studied in International Relations Department of Işık University with full scholarship and graduated in 2008 as the first ranked in her department. She also attended to Erasmus Student Exchange Program in her last year of university education. She went to Czech Republic and stayed there for almost 5 months. She gained wonderful friends from various nations; from Asia, Europe, America and Africa. She has kept these precious friendships and is planning not to lose for her lifetime.
Afterwards the university graduation she immediately started to work with a big excitement and tried her chance in some different fields in this 2-year period. However, she couldn't be sure if these places would make her happy for further years. At the end, she met ES family in 2010 through a friend who was already working here. Burcu was sure that this place and this title perfectly matched with her lifestyle. She feels happy and peaceful now for being a part of this family.
One of the biggest hobbies of Burcu is travelling. It does not matter if she goes to a place in Turkey or abroad. She really likes to meet new people from new cultures. She can be said lucky since lives in a multi-cultural country. Reading is also one of her major hobbies. During her study in International Relations she used to prefer to read political books more. However, nowadays criminal novels are her favorites! Sports is also one of indispensables for her life. She played volleyball for about 6 years, became a 100 meter runner of athleticism team in her high school and she gained her black belt in taekwondo after three years effort. With the enter in the business life she had to reduce the time she spent for sports, but she still has a membership to a gym and attends here 3 days in a week.
Zafer has joined ES family in 2004 as a Technical Support specialist. He has graduated from GOP University, Computer Programming division. He has completed many tasks in the areas of hardware and software handling, infrastructure, security, backing up of valuable company assets. Along with his regular duties he had also acted in the sales and support department of a product solely created by ES.
After 2007, he worked as a Localization Engineer and assisted many Clients, Project Managers and Freelancers of ES. During the same period he also played an active role in the training and support of Translation Tools for ES staff and its' freelancers. In 2010 he started to work as a Project Coordinator and since the beginning of 2011 he's acting as a Project Manager here in ES.
He's a person of nature and loves hiking in the green. When he finds time he loses himself in the deep sea of technology and new software. He loves reading philosophy and has great time while dealing with animation movies.
Aydın joined project management team of ES family in 2012. He strengthened his connection with our company which he began to work for in 2010, as a freelance subtitling specialist.
After his graduation from Anadolu University's Cinema and Television program in 2007, he was accepted to İstanbul University for a master's degree in the same scientific branch. But after a while he realized that the profession that makes him most happy is localization. For more than 3 years he worked as a movie translator and subtitling specialist. After he successfully completed approximately one thousand projects and he trained many junior translators to help them reach professional level, he decided that he wanted to gain experience in managing workflows. And he believes that he found the best place for this purpose.
Aydın feels relaxed when he reads about game design and drama theory. He writes a blog on these subjects. He likes to play board games with his friends when he finds time and opportunity. Alongside of being a former editor of Oyungezer Online, he's a regular and well known member of tabletop gaming communities in İstanbul. He also owns a wide collection of B movies.
Noyan joined the ES family in 2000 to test for the Office 2000 project. He completed his 10 years in 2010, and is now counting days towards his 25th anniversary.
He took part in all the projects with a technical content in the ES family, before he became the leader of the technical team. He was the testing leader in the testing project for Office 2000, team leader for Office 2003, administrator of the Office 2007 group, assuring the constitution of the group itself. He fulfilled various positions in desktop publishing, localization engineering and the coordination of the software team. He shared his experience of the computer culture and information technologies with the various factions of the ES family through many training projects inside the offices.
He was among the first graduates of the Kadir Has High School and he studied at the Middle Eastern Technical University Electricity and Electronic Engineering Department. He studied in the Mathematics Department of the İstanbul University upon his return to İstanbul.
He likes to read science fiction and political books as well as watching movies of the same genres, but he values spending time with his son the most. He tries to keep up with the communication, software and office automation technologies. He has built his own family with his banker wife whom he met during his years at the ES family and his son was born in 2008.
Dilek joined the ES in 2001 as a software translator/specialist. Since then she assumed various roles in the Linguistics department, including proofreader, QA specialist and terminologist. She gained her expertise in the software localization area, mainly Windows and Office. She also provided terminological and quality control services for various localization projects. She is currently working as the Linguistics Group Lead.
After she studied Computer Engineering in Bosphorus University, she started her professional life as a software specialist in banking industry. She specialized in IVR, POS, ATM and self-service systems. Then she turned to the publishing industry and became editor in weekly computer magazines and computer books. She wrote (co-wrote) three books, and one computing terms glossary. After that, she joined an Internet publishing project in one of the biggest media groups in Turkey as a Portal Publishing Coordinator.
In the meantime, she attended French, Japanese and Arabic classes, and also took courses on cinema and photography. She loves to go in-country expeditions, and travels to North Africa, Middle East and Asia. She is a supporter of ecological life style.
Özlem joined the ES family in 1997. She serves as the accounting and administrative affairs manager. Currently, Özlem is working on the formation, management and internal control of accounting systems.
She graduated from the Department of Business Administration, a Anadolu University. In addition, Özlem qualified to become a financial advisor in 2000. She completed the executive MBA program at Marmara University in 2004.
Among her hobbies are music, gardening, cooking, indoor sports, hiking and politics. She is married with a 6-year-old daughter.
